Conrad Bangkok Review: One Of The Best Hotels In Bangkok

Having stayed in a number of Conrad hotels such as Conrad Singapore and Conrad Dubai, I was quite excited to be trying out Conrad Bangkok, especially having been there for high tea at the Diplomat Bar a year back and saw that the hotel lobby looked great. Read on our experience in this luxurious hotel in this Conrad Bangkok review, or you can use the skip to the section needed with the list of contents.

Check In

Conrad Bangkok Hotel Lobby

Upon arriving at the hotel, we were greeted by the hotel staff and shown to the reception for checkin. Checkin process was quick and we were also given a welcome drink while waiting for the staff to process our documents.

The Room

Conrad Bangkok Premium Room

We got upgraded from the Deluxe room to the Premium room, which to be frank, looked the same to us from images on the hotel website, with the small difference being the table. Both the Deluxe and Premium rooms are 41 sqm.

First impression was that the room has plentiful of space for 2 persons.

The fun part about Conrad hotels is that each room comes with a small toy and you get different ones in different countries. It was a bear and duck in Singapore, while we got an elephant in Conrad Bangkok.

The Bed

Conrad Bangkok Premium Room

The bed was comfortable enough, nothing to shout about, but we did notice that the middle of the bed seem to be sinking in. The “default” pillows were really soft, but they also provided a pillow menu if you would like to try out other pillow options.

Room Amenities

The room also came with a pretty complete set of amenities — kettle, room slippers, robes, iron, coffee machine and cups.

The kettle seemed to be pretty old and about to fall into disrepair. Water would seep out the bottom when left in the kettle for a while.

The Toilet

Conrad Bangkok Premium Room Toilet

As expected, the toilet came with all things needed — soap, towels, hairdryer, etc. Everything was clean and great, but my only gripe is that the toilet roll holder was really low. It was really weird; made it quite difficult and a tad bit uncomfortable to reach for the toilet paper.

Facilities

Swimming Pool in Conrad Bangkok

Facilities in the Conrad Bangkok were well-rounded, even including a tennis court and pickleball court on top of the usual swimming pool and gym. The pool was really beautiful and there was even a bar by the pool. There

Activities

Conrad Bangkok also provides free activities like morning yoga and cooking classes, which we unfortunately did not have time to try. There is a board near the lifts that indicates what experiences are on that week, so I’d really recommend you to check it out, especially if you have time to kill!

Breakfast

Breakfast Buffet - Pastries
Breakfast Buffet - Ham and Cheese selection

The spread at breakfast was good, however the large majority of the dishes were of Japanese and Indian cuisine. There were also the usual cereal, fruits, bread and egg station. Notably, there was a pretty wide selection of bread and pastries. The spread rotates every three days, returning to the first day’s dishes after the third day.

WiFi

We didn’t have problems with the WiFi. The speed was good enough for Netflix and Youtube without buffering.

The Service

Besides the usual pleasantries whenever you enter and exit the hotel, the Conrad Bangkok staff always seemed to be happy to serve. We requested for spoons because our food delivery didn’t come with any utensils and we were given not only spoons, but also bowls and plates.

Location of Conrad Bangkok

Shuttle bus schedule at Conrad Bangkok

Location was the only downside of the hotel. Despite being in the city, the nearest train station, Phloen Chit, at least a 10 minute walk away. The roads surrounding the hotel were super jammed up and we spend our first evening of the trip waiting an hour for our Grab.

There is a free shuttle bus that takes you to Phloen Chit and the bus does run very frequently. We took this service several times and found it really convenient. The wait wasn’t that long either. The bus comes every 5 minutes during peak hours and every 15 minutes during off peak periods. Refer to image below for the shuttle bus schedule.

Price

We paid approximately SGD 195 per night for our stay, via Trip.com in December. This was comparable to many hotels of the same rating and prices in Bangkok seem to have been increasing in recent years so this price was reasonable for a hotel on the higher-end.

Final Rating

Cleanliness: 5/5
Price: 4/5
Ambience: 5/5
Value: 4/5
Remote workability: 5/5
